My past relationships with narrative writing are very mediocre in my teachers' point of view. They always see a fault in my work, in both Elementary School and High School (in both Jamaica and the United States). I never understood why because I had so much confidence about my narrative writing skills and students enjoyed it. To be honest that is my favorite type of writing but teachers have killed my confidence in writing over the years so I lost interest in writing anything. But now I have slowly started to get myself back into the writing world, with the motivation from my teacher who shows a lot of passion in it, which I really feel inspired by. So I attempted to create writing that meant a lot to me, which is a memoir. To begin my process of writing the memoir, I first completed A Letter to my Author-Self to repair my relationship with writing. Secondly, I completed a Writing Process Roundtable to see how far my imagination could go in writing, that would set a tone for my expectations when writing another piece. Thirdly, I composed an Emotional Scene with Dialogue and Symbolism. This is where I made a memoir to real dig deeper with my emotions in writing to start enjoying it more because at the start when I repaired my relationship with writing, it wasn't fully repaired because I still couldn't find what excites me. Finally, I completed a Memoir Counterfactual to test my writing in different perspectives, which means changing the plot and the theme of my writing.
